About this badge

Rec Sports Champions are student employees who have consistently distinguished themselves among their peers for their outstanding effort and commitment over their tenure at OSU Rec Sports. These are staff members who create and promote attitudes, behaviors, and a work environment that contribute to a culture of well-being. They are standout leaders who foster an inclusive environment, strive to excel while also pushing others to continuously improve.

In Sport Programs, we have the honor of watching leaders grow and are always excited when thinking about their bright futures. This Champion is truly a shining star who is a leader among their peers. Much of what this person does is behind the scenes, but it does not go unnoticed. This Champion puts in extra time on the weekend to ensure the SPAs have the resources needed to effectively do their jobs with intramurals and sport clubs. Though taking on tasks alone is important, our champion knows when to delegate work that not only highlights a colleague’s strengths, but allows them to grow their skills for future endeavors. This person looks for ways to improve their position by setting goals and conquering them all while looking for ways to grow and improve the program. They bring professionalism and a positive attitude in everything they do in the Sport Programs Office. This year she took on high level tasks when Jill was out on maternity leave, and executed them in a manner that helped to fill the void of being down a pro staff. Even during this time of uncertainty, Molly McPhun’s warm smile and determination shows us that not only will she be a super star when she leaves OSU, but those she has directly impacted will also shine brightly thanks to her leadership. Molly is a true Champion and we are honored to be celebrating her today. Congrats Molly McPhun!
