About this badge

Rec Sports Champions are student employees who have consistently distinguished themselves among their peers for their outstanding effort and commitment over their tenure at OSU Rec Sports. These are staff members who create and promote attitudes, behaviors, and a work environment that contribute to a culture of well-being. They are standout leaders who foster an inclusive environment, strive to excel while also pushing others to continuously improve.

This champion's manager serves as a catalyst to draw out the best from students in order to take initiative and be career ready while balancing personal wellbeing. It is a rare and pleasant surprise when I engage students who not only aim for this, but hit the target with a bullseye! From the starting block this girl was on the run! Keeping a healthy pace with challenging Miles running through the twists, turns, head winds and the hills of her senior year, this champ managed a transition between three different managers, coming back to work before summer was finished to integrate wellbeing throughout On-Ramp allowing national recognition of said program which she achieved level 3 status in <1 year, helped pioneer the Wellness Nook, emcee extraordinaire at RSLDPs, coordinated the Employee of the Month program, editor and chief of The Catalyst, improved and documented several department level processes, collaborated closely with new media peers and pivoted the entire planning of this EOY celebration from an in-person event to a remote event in <2 months all while she prepared for graduation, onboarded her talented replacement all while her very own manager was called away out of the office the majority of Spring term. Thanks for bringing out the best in me and being my running partner…now go run after your next Target….congrats Aggie!
