Rec Sports Champions are student employees who have consistently distinguished themselves among their peers for their outstanding effort and commitment over their tenure at OSU Rec Sports. These are staff members who create and promote attitudes, behaviors, and a work environment that contribute to a culture of well-being. They are standout leaders who foster an inclusive environment, strive to excel while also pushing others to continuously improve.

While we have been practicing social distancing, streaming platforms have tried to keep us affixed to our couches by providing one bingeable docuseries after another. One focused on, arguably, the greatest basketball player of all time and the other on, um, the greatest fake Country Western singer who also abuses tigers of all time.

These are no doubt captivating subjects, but how about a docuseries on a Rec Sports champion. One that didn’t punch a teammate or a tiger in the face. Is this too much to ask?! Not enough drama for you? Well here is my pitch:

Episode 1 Hey Rookie, Design me a Cookie!: A plucky new designer joins a seasoned team of veteran designers that seemingly know everything there is to know about design. How will she earn her keep on this stellar squad?

Episode 2 Beast Mode: Rookie designer starts cranking out incredible design after design at a record pace and declares to the veteran crew, “If design is an IM Sport give me that Champions T, but first let me design it!”

Episode 3 Eternal Flame: With a Rec Sports record of four amazing graphic designers graduating at the same time, a common, ever so supportive, refrain from Rec Sports staff to her manager was the statement “you are going to be screwed!” Fear not, this designer worked by herself all summer supporting every Rec Sports area, while preparing to set the new team up for success.

Episode 4 We are the Champions: The final episode concludes with the designer taking on new Adventures, one cute snowshoe graphic at a time, and new responsibilities by also assuming Marketing Assistant duties. She ends her Rec Sports career at a virtual awards ceremony and states in front of her peers, “My Name is Aimee Williams and I am a Rec Sports Champion. Congrats Aimee!
