About this badge

NYU-SCPS offers three professional certificates in portfolio management to meet the needs of students who are new to the field, as well as professionals who wish to advance their expertise in a particular area of specialization. The Certificate in Portfolio Management is a foundation-focused program emphasizing core skills and competencies, and it can be completed in nine months. The advanced certificate builds upon the core certificate with specialization in Equity or Real Estate or in Fixed Income.

Upon completion of one of the programs, students gain a broad understanding of securities and investment management topics, including:

• The operation of equity, fixed-income, and derivatives markets
• Securities analysis, including equity and bond valuation
• Risk/reward trade-offs and statistical tools for measuring risk and return
• Portfolio asset allocation and performance analysis
• Technical analysis techniques for investments in securities markets outside the United States, as selected by the individual student
