About this badge

Rec Sports Champions are student employees who have consistently distinguished themselves among their peers for their outstanding effort and commitment over their tenure at OSU Rec Sports. These are staff members who create and promote attitudes, behaviors, and a work environment that contribute to a culture of well-being. They are standout leaders who foster an inclusive environment, strive to excel while also pushing others to continuously improve.

Melanie is one of our employees that began working with us at the beginning of the school year, and has reflected consistently through her actions and work ethic what it means to be resilient and adaptable. She has worked through challenging circumstances with a positive and humble attitude, which only brings up those that are lucky enough to be around her. Melanie has also gone above and beyond to seek ways in which we can improve as an organization and program area, specifically and has shown an ability to be an advocate when she feels necessary. She continues to push our bounds and will surely create meaningful change in her future within our Department. We look forward to watching her growth among our Leadership Team and thank her for the commitment and passion that she brings to our community each and every day!
